Mmmm...Cereal
Hailey had rice cereal for the first time tonight. It was...interesting. She played with it, spit it back out, swallowed, coughed, gagged and swished it around. I think she ate a little bit. She made a mess and daddy took pictures.

Yuck!

It is official, Hailey puked in my mouth! :(
Here is how it all started. Hailey has been an exceptionally slow eater from day one. She currently spends 30 minutes drinking 4 ounces. She gets so tired and worn out from working so hard that she refuses to eat anymore. So me being a genius and all, had the grand idea to switch from the slow nipple to the medium. All day Saturday and Sunday she did wonderful. She ate, she burped, she ate some more.
Arriving home tonight I put her in her cozy monkey jammies and started the process of feeding her dinner. She ate, and ate, and ate. She ate slow and steady for almost an entire hour. She downed 8 full ounces. I couldn't believe it. My little eater was actually getting full. I sat her up and began to pat her back. One giant burp was followed by a projectile stream of milk. The couch, the cute jammies, my pants and Clutch were covered. Ryan began to clean up the mess while I washed and changed Hailey. I gave her a big hug and kissed her cheek. Hailey coughed so I mimicked her. She mimicked me and as I was getting ready to "fake" cough back it happened. Up came projectile number two right into my open mouth.
Like the rest of you, I have seen this happen a million times on America's Funniest Home Videos and have always wondered how those bozos let that happen to them. I have officially become one of those bozos and I must say, I'm not sure how it all went so wrong. Such a cute and fun game between mother and daughter became a disgusting moment that I will never forget.

Hailey's first tooth

We don't have a tooth quiet yet, but the process is exhausting. Hailey is working on the bottom left tooth. She has a big swollen spot on her gum, sometimes there is a bump and sometimes there isn't. She has begun waking up around 4 am...we normally get up at 5, so Ryan and I are quickly becoming exhausted. Hailey is quickly learning to sooth herself by sucking her thumb and other fingers. I would love for her to finally have this first tooth, yet I know that it is just the first of many.
